I am looking for some advice as to which battery/power pack to get for the 600 rx series. I was thinking VML but then I also came across the innovatronix but they cost $790.00 and I am trying to keep cost lower than that. Would I be able to use 600rx at full power using VML? Also, if I wanted to run 2 600rx on battery pack, do I need to purchase two VML or can I run them with one battery pack? I am thinking I can run both on a single VML but maybe not at full power?
I am hoping someone can help me out and suggest which would be better?
It's not just a question of recycle times, it's also a question of whether this particular strobe can handle the voltage drop from a small inverter without damage to the electronics over time. The Einstein has been designed to handle the voltage drop. I could be wrong but I don't think I would trust a VML with an RX-600 and especially two. I know there are you tubes out there show fast recycle times but no long term testing. It might take the voltage drop for a while but not for long and I doubt Elinchrom will warrant their product using it. You might ask PCB if they say the VML is safe. The Innovatronix Explorer Mini is a little bigger but it has double the continuous power rating and is only $349.00. I built my own system with a 600 watt inverter and 11 amp battery and with two RX-600's at full power it even groans when they recycle. But they recycle very fast.
