Taking advantage of the wonderful, unseasonably warm temperatures in Central New York. Normally this waterfall would be a solid chunk of ice this time of year.
Comments are welcome.
Chris:
I really like the multiple tiers in the first shot here and the detail in the lower left tier. The second shot, I would crop just below the bridge, but that's just my take on this.

Two beautiful interpretations, Chris. And I really like them.
Just an idea- in #1 you might clone in the bit of sky with additional forest- the bright spot is a little distracting.
Unless you're a purist, of course. But the world of "digital magic" has almost eliminated those proud folk .

Beautiful! I love the first one. Did you have to wade out for this vantage point? I don't remember there being an easy way to get out into the creek at that point.
I was up there this summer for my reunion (Cornell '01) and went to Ithaca Falls one of the mornings for some shots, but didn't get any good ones of the whole falls. (I did get a few nice detail shots, though, focusing in on a few specific areas.)
I used to love going swimming under these falls in the summer. I miss Ithaca. I was really glad to get to come back this summer, but I love the town.
Both are very good, Chris. Am I correct in thinking they're the same shot and that #1 is a crop from #2? Great coice of shutter speed - just enough to blur the water nicely and not too much to kill all detail.
Douglas - Interesting idea, I'll take a look at it.
Charlie - I am a bit of purist. Aside from obviously some adjustments in Lightroom, PS, and SilverEFX 2, there has been no change in the content of the image.
Jman13 - With the floods this past September there were some significant changes to the creek bed. Believe it or not my feet stayed dry on this shoot! Now I did have to put the tripod in the water because the only dry land was the two rocks I was standing on. Next time you're Ithaca let me know, I'd be happy to go out shooting with you!
santiago - My focus point was the lower, high contrast cascade.
Peter - They are two separate shots, just the same tripod location
