p.1 #1 · My shutter button is acting up, what can i do?

I have a Canon 50D with about 20-30k shutter clicks. I grabbed my camera this morning, last used it 5 days ago, and I clicked the shutter to take a pic and it only focused and wouldn't shoot. I finally got it to shoot when I pushed the button harder. It hasn't given me any signs of it going out, just happened all of a sudden. I've been messing with it a lil and it clicks better depending on how my finger pushes the button. I blew it with a rocket blower thinking it had dust or something inside (might still.) After playing with it for a while it got better and better but not like before. Grabbed it again after an hour of not messing with it and back to square one where i have to push hard on the button for it to shoot. Any ideas on what it could be or what i can try. I don't live near a camera shop. thanks!

Sounds like you've pretty much done everything you can. Call Canon and see what they have to say. I think eventually it will go out completely.
