Do you think they stopped short of the announcement to go and redesign the 5D3 when they saw the D800
hmm I think this means we need to revisit what we planned for the 5D3:
1. AF
2. MP count
3. fps
4. DR
5. shutter response
6. mirror blackout time
7. video mode extras
8. autoiso abilities
9. weather sealing
10. how many more shares of Nikon stock we intend to purchase
Northlight is saying that there will be no 5DX but that there will be a 5D3 and that it will have 22MP, 6fps (maybe this a truncation of 6.9fps which single Digic 5+ might be able to drive and other rumors had or at least the 6.3fps of the 40D/50D), 1DX AF (not simplified) with announcement March 2nd (Friday.... Friday, Friday, Friday. Friday comes after Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Monday but before Saturday and Sunday. Friday is not a typical release day. But Friday is more likely than Saturday or Sunday. But not as likely as Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or even Monday.).
They used to have really good rumors there, i.e. ones that became true, sometimes had general outlines of things two years ahead. Lately they haven't had much good info though and missed 1DX totally I believe, so....

I was flipping a coin and got five heads in a row, but I don't know if I should trust that that will happen in the next five flips...

Yeah but they really did have good info in the past, they used to get these long range general tech plans and so on and it wasn't random flip sort of stuff. Even he has said that those particular good, old sources appear to have been disappeared and no longer send anything in.
