The 1.4X will slow down focusing on the 70-200
get the 100-400

I'm trying out a 100-400L right now...I'll know a lot more this weekend out for an Eagle photographing day this Saturday, and maybe Sunday out shooting somewhere else...

Birds = 100-400L you wont regret it.

But it does need some practice if youre not used to long lenses!

yes... long lens technique!

Also considering the possibility of simply a 135L with 1.4xII as light travel kit. Can probably borrow a 135L

100-400L for sure, 400mm stomps all over 280mm even if the 400mm is somewhat worse quality than the 280mm and in this case that is not even the case
