I've been looking for an all black shoes that comes in wide. I am a severe over-pronator and I need shoes with a particular type of support. Mainly one with Motion Control support, however, I highly doubt there is such a dress shoes with that support. I am looking at these because it will mildly offer the support I need but still might work for when I am on a shoot.
Still professional? Stick with dress shoes? Doesn't matter? I am interested in the thoughts of potential problems brides/grooms might have if I wore such shoes.
My vote would be no... They may be comfy, but they look horrible... and I'm not a dress shoes only type of guy.. Those just look like they have no style. I think sneakers or comfy shoes can work as long as they say something about your style, they complete the look that supports your brand.
however, i recently developed plantar fasciitis (sucks hard). i'm looking to drop a few pounds and start wearing a spider holster for this season in addition to getting some shoes specifically designed for plantar fasciitis.
the shoes you showed are pretty bad, but i would think that very very few people would notice.

That's one of my concerns too. I had plantar fasciitis for several years. The shoes we need are stability and motion control shoes. These are normally found in running shoes.
I know the shoes above isn't stylish. But is that really the only reason not to get them? I would rather not get plantar fasciitis again if it means getting ugly shoes.
The only other route I have is to buy stylish shoes and buy $400 orthopedics.

Check out kuru footwear. I'm about to order a pair tonight for my full time gig. I really hope I get some relief.
Their tech is pretty interesting. However, from the info on their site, I feel those would be better for people who have normal or under pronation. Since I severely over-pronate, priority for me is rigidity and support over cushion. I am developing plantar fasciitis due to my feet being too flexible. This is causing my plantar facia to over stretch. So is it causing pain in the arch (rather than the heel).
Three months ago I quit my retail job selling shoes to become a full time photographer. I couldn't believe the difference the correct shoes can do for you.
haha I have some Rockports - they don't look as bad as those but they're pretty close. I tried out some more fashionable shoes at the beginning of last season but in the end I went with foot comfort over foot sex appeal.
last year I ask the same questions about shoes too .. i thought of an all black stealth looking pair of sneakers .. i got one and it was the biggest regret i've bought!! cuz its just sloppy!

Yeah. The quote I got here for custom orthopedics is $400. I can't help to think that's like 5 pairs of shoes lol.
Having shoes that fit properly and don't hurt your feet is worth 10 pairs of cheap shoes.
My feet are 8 1/2 EEEE with a very high in-step and I supinate both feet heavily. It's very difficult to find shoes that fit, for one, and even harder to find shoes that hold up to how I walk. My next step will be to go to a proper foot doctor to have shoes fit.
