A captivating view with plenty of interesting arcitectural elements. I also like the crowd and the rather bright look of this image. But there are some issues with the perspective in the right half of the image (if I look at the first building, the traffic signal pole, the St Vincent sign, they all seem to be tilting slightly to the right ?).

Hi Santiago,
You made me a little curious so I checked my guides, I think it might be an optical illusion.
Thanks for looking.

Terrific image, Tim!
Much of downtown LA looked like that when I was a kid living 15 miles away. I'd forgotten all about it because I've avoided it for many years.
About the "tilt." I agree that it looks like a slight lean, but I also checked. Every vertical line is truly vertical, as you (Tim) say. Gotta be an illusion.
Any more LA magic, Tim .

Thanks Charlie, Old LA around Broadway has remarkable architecture, it's to bad they are not
appreciated and not being restored to their glory days, we sure don't make them like that anymore.
I believe the reason for the "illusion" is the top of the building on the left is narrower than it is a the middle or base.
I like it. Just for fun, it would be interesting to see it with the towering "modern" building looming up at dead center removed. It does distract from the "era" of the other buildings.
These are just great shots - not being American they remind me of scenes from the '50's B&W movies - I expect to see Mickey Rooney coming round the corner on roller skates.
