I was at the beach today and while I was able to rescue a Pelican tangled in a fishing line ( it is incredible the number of birds that get injured with fishing line thrown on the beach) I was able to witness an aerial chase between two GBHs. They got so close I had to duck down
I've never seen a GBH chasing another one so fiercely.
Except for the first one the rest are FF.

Thanks Kirk I was actually caught by surprise when they got so close and didn't thing to dial down the 70-300, so I stayed at 300mm, cutting a lot of wings

I've witnessed this type of behavior too, Socrate, but have never been able to photograph it. And full-frame! My, my. And kudos for being the Pelican's Good Samaritan! I'm going to have to visit the Florida Panhandle with Discovery one of these days.
First off - good for you to have saved the Pelican from what could have been a slow and painful death
Secondly - these shots are nice - cool action and you were able to get both Herons in focus too!
Excellent captures Socrate. Optimal choice of depth of field to get both birds in focus.
I agree with you about discarded fishing lines. They cause so much damage to the wildlife.
