p.1 #1 · Just sent my free sample album to graphistuido

Hi all,

I just sent my free sample kit to Graphistudio, a 16x16 accompanied with the wee books and a calendar.

I cant wait to receive it so it will be a long wait to see in my own hands the good reputation of these books and the quality of them.

I would love to hear from those who started working with graphistudio and ordered a free sample kit, how long did it take to get it was the free sample what you expected to be ...

Thanks,

Jaime

I got a free sample kit from Graphi a while back just because I wanted to see why so many people use them.

Yeah, so... it's freaking awful...

Our sample albums from them have been great and our clients really loved them. Do they have some quality control issues? Yup. But so far they have been good. Just really, really have to double check.

My issue with them isn't related to quality control, customer service, etc... my issue with Graphi is just that I think their books looks extremely cheap and tacky. Just my opinion, but there are much better options out there, IMO. (Honestly I think they're easily one of the worst, so literally anyone else is better lol)

The sample book I received from them a couple of months ago was very very nicely done. The Nappa leather cover and the metallic prints are beautiful. Expect about 6-8 weeks for delivery - could be earlier since mine was done around at the Holidays.

You've got to be joking!!?? I can't hope to put it better so I'll leave you with the immortal words of Di Sciascio

I stopped because I wasn't impressed with the sample album.

And It took them way beyond their promised timeframe to get it to me as well.

Additionally I was getting an email from them almost every other day. Their emails stated that once you unsubscribed you could never subscribe again. Hardball on their part.

I wrote them asking that they then at least ease up on the emailings. In response, they unsubscribed me.

Meh. Good riddance. Va fa Napoli.

To each his own I guess. I only spoke of what in front of me so if you've seen, touched and felt his recycled condoms then ok.

Not just his, I've had a graphi account for 2 years and bought a couple of albums from them as well as visited their booth at at least half a dozen shows, so I know what I'm talking about. I've just always felt that their lamination is just horrible, looks shiny in that cheap, used car salesman's suit type way.

Their standard lustre is OK

They are horrible. The quality is so substandard. I got two samples from them. One had scratches throughout the pages and the other one had two pages stuck together when I got it. Oh by the way NEVER get metallic prints for an album. Any sort of humidity in the house and the pages will stick together worse then a Hustler magazine in a teenage boys home.

De gustibus non disputandum est.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of graphi either. I call their pages "the album page with the condom on"

I bought a sample from someone here on FM just so that I can show it to potential clients as a contrast between what most wedding albums look like (a lot of my competitors use Graphi) and what something elegant actually looks like.

(Of course I don't pitch it that way... if the client PREFERS the graphi look, then I'll get them a graphi ... I don't actually KNOCK the graphi, just present it as the more common book that is very popular in our area)

Graphi SUCKS.

We used them for three years with a nearly CONSTANT rate of re-prints and communication problems. We only lasted that long with them before of how far out we booked and brides demanding to stay with the Italian company over anything else we found that was better. We are SO done with them now.

We are about to do our last Graphi album. The metal cover was very popular with our clients, most had never seen anything like it. The clients were all very happy with them, my problem is the communication with the company, sales rep, etc... I can't get any questions answered in a timely fashion, if at all.

I agree that Graphi album quality is rather crappy - Pictobooks, which I usually use, certainly puts them to shame in the quality (and customer service) department.

I hate to jump on the pile, but I've got another negative vote for them. I think there are many, many far better choices out there.

A couple years ago I got tied up with them starting with an offer for a free sample with the WPPI competition prints. IIRC, the album was to contain some of the images of the year. Anyway, got onto the mail lists...which were relentless. Got on the phone list...which was relentless. Took forever to get them to back away. They did end up sending me a sample kit. Probably a pretty good investment in it too. A briefcase, a large album and a few smaller albums. Quality was so-so. Prices were out of this world high. I never showed the kit to a single person because I never want to use them after such a terrible experience. I tried to reach them several times to see if I could send the kit back. I actually felt a bit guilty that I had this kit with no intention of using it. I never got a single response back. Oh well.

Heck, I might even have that kit around here still. (if I didn't throw it away)

I wish you the best with them, I really do. My experience is certainly dated and they could have easily turned this around. One can only hope so.

I've been using them for a few years. Quality wise, I don't think they are as bad as everyone says. I mean, yes there are way better albums out there, but for the pricepoint it's pretty good. Yes, a $800 album from queensbury is going to be nicer than a $250 album from graphi. You really get what you pay for with albums. I'm starting to use Finao more and more because the quality is a lot better and it's not that much more expensive. Those parent books deals are killer too.

Not every couple can afford to spend another grand on epic album. Some of you folks can throw out buzzwords like "investment" or "lasts for ever" but as a 24 year old guy who is about to get married, the only "investment" I'm truly concerned with right now buying a house and not using the money I have saved for a down payment for a house for a wedidng. Just a realistic thing to think about.
