800 numbers come across as impersonal to me. What's wrong with just a local number? I thought most everyone had nationwide calling anyway.

800 numbers are very corporate and impersonal. IMO.

^^^ This...

900 numbers on the other hand... they are personal, they really get to know you.

I don't see a point. The only number I'd pay to have would be 212.

Funny when I posted the thread I accidentally typed 900 and quickly changed it.

That does make sense though, and that's what I was thinking, that it doesn't sound personal and more of just any company selling service online. Wanted to see what your opinions were.

I don't think it's a big enough issue to be worth the expense, most people are on nationwide plans and as Inku Yo said an 800 number is something you call to talk to a robot about your long distance, not a human being.

I don't see the point in a 1-800 number and it would come across as a big-box studio with a hundred photographers.

if we were still in the 80's this would have been more desirable, these days everyone has free long distance

Just grab a Google Voice number. You can choose it to be your local number and it would call any of your personal phones. You can have it turn off during non-business hours too.
