I was trying to process these files right after the trip but they just did not look right. In two years, either my pp skills improved or memories of real landscape faded, but here it is -- Arches.
Advice on crop highly appreciated.
3.May be I posted this one before, but here is the story: in the morning, I went to Mesa Arch, but sunrise was very pale, and all day was grayish. Just before sunset, I went to the Windows - when everyone already left. I was about to leave, too, but saw some small clearing on a horizon, and here is the reward for hanging there a bit longer: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7028/6821368707_4ea7a9a4cf_b.jpg
Thank you, Craig, I made a correction. The name still does not make sense to me
With the boat ramp - I already got rid of the cars that were parked on the ramp... may be I can cover it with snow?
Those are really pretty! #1, #2, and #5 are my favorites. In your photo, they do look more like guardians. Maybe from a certain angle they look like they are talking amongst themselves. In #5 I like how the different elements from all directions converge near the center.
Bev and John, thank you! That was my first trip to Moab, and in spite of everything I read about the area, I still was sort of clueless, so glad that at least part of my effort paid off.
Cool shots here! I am sure we all can go back to some older shots and reprocess them again! #2 and 3 are my favorites. I see just a bit of haloing in #3, PM Barry, he has a super cool technique to remove that.
I'm liking the last one but the small distraction of boatramp will make this a non-portfolio shot. Cloning may be the only option or simple enjoy it as it is: a lovely winter river shot with a small boatramp on the left.
This area always looks nice with a dusting of snow and these images are a nice example of why. #3 and #4 are my favorites of the bunch although #2 is close behind.
Jim, Jeff, Harry, Gordon and Alan - than you for comments.
I guess I did not give much thought to the composition for the balanced rock - may be that's why it worked
As about river shot, it was handheld, and taken for keeping track of my itinerary rather than for portfolio, but turned out surprisingly nice. There were cars on the ramp that I cloned out already.
