Zeph: The sun flare caused me lots of problems. Glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Camperjim: Freezing temperature is very nice with the sun shining. I don't think I would trade. Well maybe last week when I was out at -35 Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
In addition to the warm temps, there is endless sun here in Havasu. Nice sunset also. Sorry nothing colder than +35 F. Had to leave Alabama Hills because the night time temps dropped to the upper 20's. I will wait for July or August to see Peyto again. I can't even imagine how you made it up the hill to take this image.
Camperjim: The great thing about winter is the sun does not come up to 8:30 or so as compared to 5am, causing a 3am start. But I am sure Havasu is great too. Up the hill was one snowshoe after another but it was not that far. Thanks. Scott
Scott Kroeker: Glad you like it. I was trying to create a new perspective on a spot that I have visited a lot and thought the ridge and snow would add to it. I am wondering if being even lower on the tripod would have improved it but I was late and had to be quick. Its my new TSE-17 in action. The TS makes pano's without the geometric distortion of moving the camera (but with a steep learning curve and tough in the dark). With your encouragement, I might go back and clean up the flare a bit. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Steven Everitt: Glad you like them. A low bright sun in the winter works well, if I could just avoid the flare. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Scott, I understand about the daylight hours. Summer in the Canadian rockies about did me in. As I remember it was light until about 9:30 in the evening. So by the time we finished travelling, hiking, shooting pictures and returned to a campground it got really late. Add another couple of hours for dinner, downloading and reviewing pictures, showers, etc and the day got really long. Trying to add sunrises at Lake Louise about did us in.

5:20 AM to 10PM on the longest day - it is fantastic. Leave at 3am for sunrise and return at midnight.
Very nice set Scott - I like the overall comp in #2 a little more than the rest for it's nice overview of the whole scene and the neat foreground details. All the way up to freezing - must be close to time for shorts up there now
Technically speaking all 4 shots are spot on. I might have removed the sun flairs from the 1st frame and shot the remaining frames at f/8 instead of f/16. From a composition point of view I like the 2nd frame the most as the foreground adds a little more interest than the others. I might play with the contrast in the foreground snow to see if it will "pop" just a little more? All in all Lake Peyto is probably the 3rd most photographed Lake in all of the Canadian Rockies and #2 of your collection is the most unique. I might also add that without any interesting weather elements such as fog or clouds I might see how this image would look with a B&W approach. The blue skies should provide for a dramatic contrast in B&W.
Love number 2 Scott. Beautiful images all of them. Well done. I have hiked across Peyto Lake in winter on my way to the Wapta icefields. Most often we see summer images of Peyto. These are a welcome change and beautiful captures of a wondrous place.
harland: Glad you like them. They look different than when you and I went there in the summer, before our hike. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Jfarmer: Peyto is a great spot. It always works. But the 17TSE sure makes it easier for panos. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
alichty: I think 2 is the best one in retrospect as well. Shorts are quite a few months away, but the weather has been great lately. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Dirtyharry71: The water is better but unless I stay home the winter, this is the best that I can get. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
itchhhh: Thanks for the detailed advice. I agree on f8 on 3,4 but 2 might not have been as good on foreground. Maybe f11 on 2. No 2 is really the shot that I like the most - I will give you suggestions a try. I will try the black/white to see what it looks like. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
baby tooth: Glad you like them. Peyto is a great winter spot. I wish I was brave enough (avalanche risk) to venture to wapta icefields. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
CarloDidier: Titanic - I am not seeing it Glad you like 2. I think it is best in retrospect. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
