I`ve got a thread running over on the Canon forum regarding shooting some film for a change. I dug out my Canon Eos1n-hs and intended to use my Contax MF lenses on it but have been offered a Contax 167Mt at the right price.
Can you see any reason why it shouldn`t work ok with the MM lenses or is there a better Contax film body that can use the MF lenses?
Dave
If you want a basic film SLR for your c/y lenses, I've got a Yashica fx-7 which I haven't used for ages. I bought it many years ago when I was shooting film. I stripped the perished fake leather and recovered it in brown lizard skin. I also replaced all the light seals.
It's fairly basic and exposure is checked with a push button on the rear near the film crank. On pushing the button the side of the view finder will either show a green light or a + or - minus sign.
These cameras are only worth a few quid on ebay so I was going to offer it here on the alt forum for free if anyone wants to shoot film with it. (you may need to clean some dust off the mirror).
I'm away on holiday at the moment so cant send you any pics, but if you're interested send me a pm.
I have a Contax 167MT that I use occasionally. Works fine, no issues with my Contax lenses. The rubber body covering seems to be a bit prone to lifting from the body though and can need glued back down (mine needs it now in a a couple of places).
