For me this is the best technical quality of all you've posted from this series. I don't mean to be hung up on the processing (they are all very impressive images too), but I've only recently gotten involved in B&W/mono conversion techniques. I'd be interested to know if this was originally B&W or color. Thanks.

Thanks Chris, Des and Ray.
Des- this was a scan and conversion of a Kodachrome 64 slide. Color-rich and inherently contrasty, K-chromes were the standard for all serious color shooters for 50+ years. They even printed well. But scanning and processing can present problems, and then converting merely adds to the possible problems. Sometimes it works for me- sometimes not. Luckily, I'm more subject-oriented than processing-oriented.

Great series Charlie, as usual, showing your affinity for photographing people.
The only downside is now I have,(slightly disturbing), visions of you trying to immerse yourself in the culture and dancing around in a loincloth.

No dancing in a loincloth, Mr Chile. But I asked them to teach me the authentic Watusi, and they told me they were Masai- not Watusi
