p.1 #1 · My shutter issues, have they gone away or "gone away"?
Was shooting an sports event this morning, and the shutter on my D700 started slowing down while I was shooting. It was a lot like how it would act when you run out of buffer space (click click click click..click..click....click.....click.....click), but I was shooting jpeg basic/small, and the buffer never got below like r40. At one point the shutter started sounding really crunchy, and then it just stopped working.
I switched to my backup, but now that I'm back home, the D700 is working fine, and sounds normal. I've never had intermittent mechanical problems with a shutter, they generally either work, or don't. But maybe that is a real thing. It was pretty cold this morning, and I was going in and out of a warmer tent, so perhaps it was just a temperature/condensation issue?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, so I can start budgetting for a new shutter if that seems likely.
