Hi, I was hoping for some info on repair costs. I'd like to know if I am going to be seeing a large repair bill. My 70-200 has taken a knock during work and one or more of the elements is out of alignment. Focusing and VR work fine. No grinding noises or anything nasty. I think it just needs to be put back into limits. I was just curious if anyone has had this done before and what the costs are. If I am taking to to Nikon directly, is this something they can do while I wait?
It does sound like something is loose, I would assume an element is wiggling around. The AF works fine, it is still quick and no nasty noises from VR.
Just a rough idea would be great. I can't imagine this is something serious but you never know with lens repair.
