Two years ago, in January, in a midst of crisis, my company sent all employeers into a furlow for a week. I can always use an extra week off - and so I went to Moab for a few days. It was quite cold but absolutely magical. (If I only get a chance, I would love to repeat the trip in a spring.)
That's cool you got a week off! #1 and 2 are my favorites. With #2 I would crop just a bit above the tree, yeah you will lose some clouds, but I don't think they were doing much for the shot anyway.
Without knowing what the original image looks like, I would say I like the feel in #2 & 3, but would consider bringing the top down on those just a little...just to direct & keep the viewers attention a little more on the foreground. I like these as they are interesting with lots of detail, but not much clutter IMHO. Did you use a ND Grad on #3? Maybe do a quick adjustment layer to brushout the darker area on the tree / brush. I keep coming back to #1...I really like the sky colors.
To redclay92 - all pictures are loaded in my Flick account, look under set "Moab" to see the EXIF. #4 is a 3-exposure HDR, the rest are single shots processed in Photomatix with consecutive pp in PS. These pictures were sitting on my hard drive for over two years, waiting for my pp skills to improve
Thank you, MP79, Brock, Charlie and Mark. The location is so different from anything I've seen before - add to it that, on early January morning, I was there, for a large part, absolutely alone (not counting Mesa arch). I suspect that #3 is looking towards the part of the park where False Kiva is located.
