definitely gave a soaring eagle in flight kind of feel to the second pic. Lavender usually makes for lovely backgrounds and with the whites I think you've got a winning combination.

Sp12 - I made the collage in Photoshop. I added a white canvas to either side of the centre photo then dragged and resized each of the other photos onto the blank canvas, leaving a gap around them. (Use guides to line them all up if necessary or run a white pencil between the pics in the flattened image to get the gaps all the same size.)
I then cropped any spare canvas off the sides and then added a white border all around with the canvas setting again. Crude but effective
