It's alright for me to respond twice...it was soooooo long ago. Doesn't it make it so much more interesting now that you know all about avian sex anatomy.
Well, um...no! Just a nice sequence even if they were facing the wrong effing
way at the end. The foreplay was much more interesting anyway.

Finally! I have always wondered how copulation took place (seriously now) since every photo of bird copulation I have seen was not clear enough when they showed the position of the male's cloacal protuberance on what appeared to be the back of the female. But your photo shows that the female's tail feathers move to one side to allow proper positioning of the two sex organs.
