Should Utah's Kodachrome Basin be renamed because the film is no longer made?
Here is a shot from the state park. I waited until background shadows would make the two "chimneys" on each side stand out.

What a cool area -- never been. The chimneys do stand out nicely Craig. Yes, they should change the name, but not to your suggestion... doesn't roll off the tongue smoothly.
I'm not much into names, maybe 'cause I forget so easily, but I respect those who have gone before me. I do support the old names from the white persons recollection or the native peoples culture. It helps teach the new ones that come along the human history, but geology is the only "real" history...
I like the shot Craig, there much to enjoy here...
Just two responses to comments. I was not being serious about changing the name. It was apparently a lame attempt at a joke. I loved the referrence to Paul Simon's "Kodachrome." Also, this picture was taken back in November.
