Tokina is awesome....will be interested to see this lens' performance and price when it comes out in two years (Tokina seems to take a long time releasing their lenses).
Interesting lens, but I wonder at what price? Perhaps more interesting for Nikon than Canon shooters.
How's the story with 16-28mm, by the way? I haven't seen much raving about it as with 11-16. Are there any decent direct real word comparisons with top performers like Nikkor 14-24, Zeiss 21, TS-E 17/4 or TS-E 24II?
Clearly more interesting for Nikon owners than Canon. But it's good to see that a Tokina lens with image stabilization. I am curious to see how fast the AF is going to be.
Tamron has announced a 24-70mm F2.8 zoom for full frame cameras that features inbuilt optical stabilisation - a first in this class of lens. The SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD, to give it its full name, also incorporates an Ultrasonic Silent Drive motor for autofocus, which allows full time manual focus. The lens is moisture resistant, and features a circular aperture diaphragm for the attractive rendition of background blur. It will be produced in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts, with price and availability to be confirmed at a later date.
