I was scheduled to shoot a girls basketball game tonight. Last minute the editor calls and tells me he forgot to send me off to a different assignment. So I ran home grabbed the Mini Vagabond two AB800's and my a different lens and body and headed out. I think these are my best results to date with shooting strobed events. I struggled a bit with all the red in the gym. But think I handled it in post pretty well.
Great stuff. I like #8 the best because I like tight faces with total BG separation, but I can also appreciate how challenging it can be to get a shot like #3 when strobing mainly because you can get impatient with the trigger when you have two faces and next thing you know, you're caught between recycles when an actual off the ground take down happens. So props go out to you for #3.
Thanks Paul and I agree, three is a tough shot, because it's always way too easy to shoot too early or wait too late, especially when one and done on strobes. Thanks for looking.
