The first is from a few months ago and is a work-in-progress as the conditions didn't work out the way I had envisioned. I was trying to catch a big splash coming up the notch before the sunset colors went away, but it ended up to be more of a drizzle. Will try again but not sure if I can get the right conditions and still be able to take the shot since this is a rather precarious position (limited space and drench-prone).
The second is from this week, on the same day Jon Farmer got his image shown here https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1082056. Thanks to Jim Fox again for giving me the heads- up to head to the coast for this one.

I would choose No.1 here because of the flow of the last rays warmth over the entire frame and how it gradually fades in the foreground just as fingertips losing their grasp.

Thanks everyone for taking a look and for your kind comments. Very much appreciated!
Douglas, glad you like #1 and I like your description of the light rays' grasp on the foreground rocks.
Aleksandra, I did zoom in on the far rocks on the right, probably more than you're thinking because it excludes the rocks with the waterfalls as well. Wasn't quite as dynamic as it also didn't have the sunburst.
Jason, this is Little Corona del Mar in Southern Calif.
PerlaD300, both shots are a blend of 2-3 images, exposed differently for the sky and foreground. The second was also shot at different apertures. For the sunburst, I went with the smallest aperture at f22.
Milan, I agree about the better comp on #2. I think in #1 I might be able to push the camera further left for a better comp.
Very cool job here with #2. Boy, I sure like your composition... That is really sweet! I knew I should have gone next to you to shoot, you always get the better comp!!! Oh, and #1 is pretty nice to... Gotta keep working on it... I have one from that spot with the wave crash and I didn't get soaked... So it can be done...
Thanks Jon, Barry and Jim! Haha, Jim, there was plenty of room around me for both of us. You did a comp like #1 too, Jim? Were you able to go further left for a better comp? There just wasn't much room up on that rock.
Excellent exposure on both shots. Think I would crop half the sky in the first image as there is not enough detail to hold my interest and appears rather empty. Cropping just above the more intense red sky would also put more emphasis on the red reflection on the water. Second image is really nice.
Sweet set! The colors are terrific as well as the comp. I like the details you have captured. The sunburst in the second image is second to none! I am trying to find something I don't like, but can't find anything.
