For a "low budget photographer" you are amazingly talented. You rock! Your narrative about the studio set up was both informative and amusing to read. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I am surprised that you are not able to find work with some ad agency or freelance (with pay). These pictures will make great contributions to your portfolio.
Keep up your excellent talent.

From a photo on the "photographer" section of your website, it looks like you're shooting with an EF 28-105/3.5-4.5 II USM... correct?
What a coincidence, I also shoot a D30 with that lens. I just wish my results were as good as yours and if I had models and such :P
All I have for lighting are two 500W super8mm camera lights that are hot enough to start a fire when used at close distances. I haven't used them indoors yet :P
Hhaha tell me about it.. i can't afford strobes, so i use continuous sources. yeah i used to shoot primarily on my 28-135. then i got my hands on a 50mm 1.8 mark I for a steal ($90 CAD). I shoot just with that.

Thanks braman. I'd take a photography job at the drop of a hat. but Vancouver isn't exactly fashion central. Very few magazines based here too. For now, i'll just continue to dream.
Beautiful shots Role. These are the kind of shot that make mewant to keep shooting.Photography is one of those hobbies you don,t get tireed of>One question was the bare Bulb behind the Coroplast
Wow Wow Wow! I am also very much into LBS but today I was thinking about going ahead and spending money on better better lighting and back drops until I saw your post. I am so blown away by them. You have truely inspired me.
Maybe you should think about traveling to a more Fashion Oriented Area where you can really Shine and I am sure you would make a lot of money. Anyway thank you so much for your post.

Thanks! The bulb wasn't bare, there were 2 layers of diffusion in front of the bulb from the softbox so all circles would be even.
Welcome to the site! I agree with everyone else. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your explanation going into building the set, and would love to see more images. Also, it is nice to see more Canadians here! (I'm originally from Nova Scotia, but living in Seattle).

She gets that alot! i think everyone wants to marry her !!!!
Roley - Without a doubt the best images I have seen here by far. Like everyone else said, move. Don't think about it, move. Go to New York, LA, where ever. You have a gift and without a doubt you will be a star. Just remember when you are shooting Claudia Schiffer that your fellow FMers pushed you into the business.

I have to admit, that having been on this forum for 2 days, I've seriously been considering moving now.. But i'll only move if I can find a job. I'm quite scared about not finding work.
Thanks so much for pushing. It really means alot to me.
