So this one I could tell if I got in the water a tiny bit my composition could improve drastically. Although 40 degrees out I still braved up and went for and I'm happy that I did. I could tell you that cold water then walking on sand feels like you're walking on needles

I'm normally one to try and capture vivid color when the sun is setting but it was a pretty bland shot. My whole point of this trip was to get the actual light house so I walked out on these rocks then jumped from island to island and slapped my ND filter on!

I'd love to get some critiques on these!

Thanks for looking,
Zak

Zak - I really like the pics. Here's what comes to mind.

Pic 1 - I would correct the lean in the tower and make it upright. Easily done in Photoshop using the free transform command.

Pic 2 - I would try cropping down to the upper right 1/3 of the photo. You beautiful subject is getting lost in the dead space.

My $0.02.

Both images are well done Zak. My favorite is #2 for the composition. Great suggestions by John to make these images stronger, particularly trying different crops for #2. #1 could use the leveling of the horizon in addition to the correction for wide angle distortion. Great extra effort to get the more unique views.

Thanks! Now that you say it, it is crooked and the sad part is I did straighten it out a bit from what the original was lol

For the most part I have a huge problem with horizons that are not straight so that's why its titling. Also the distortion of my wide angle makes in lean!

Also I did crop this a little bit but I wanted to leave some space on the left of the rocks in the middle of the photo. I try to keep all my work cropped to the right ratio so it all can be printed.

Thanks for the critique!!!
