I was digging around my MV files earlier in the week looking for some images for a project I am working on and found this. Everytime I dig back in the MV files from this trip I seem to find images I missed , never worked on or never liked the original processing. I was attending a work shop with Southwest Perspectives -Derek von Briesen at the time I shot this, awesome trip.
C&Cis always appreciated, thanks for viewing. Dean
Dean some great light here, but the pics pretty small, would love to see it larger. Also can you pull back a bit more detail in the sun? I reckon if you can it would be fantastic
cheers Andrew
Andrew, thanks for your input here, I went back and try and work some more detail in the hot spot and posted a larger image, I also thought it might look neat as a b/w so I added that as well. Dean
Dean, in contrast with everyone else, I really like color version.
Golden hues are amazing, I really enjoy them. However, the dark hole in a cloud is distracting, and pulls attention off the beautiful valley below. May I suggest to crop about 1/3 off the top, and see what happens?
Thanks everybody your comments and input are greatly appreciated. Dean
Aleksandra , I will certainly look at the crop I am trying a few things with this image that area works with the b/w but is a distraction on the color version.
While i know not everyone is a fan of HDR Photography this would have been a great opportunity to try blending different exposures to get a little more detail from the mid-ground. The Beta release of Lightroom 4 also has a "shadows" slider that might also help recover some of the detail.
