p.1 #1 · PocketWizard Flex compatibility with D4 & SB-910
I just got off the phone with PocketWizard support and was told that the Nikon SB-910 is not compatible with the TT5/ TT1, and a firmware update is in the works. I am using SB-910s and the only issue I'm encountering is with HSS/Hypersync. No date for the update is available.
I asked about compatibility with the new D4 with the Flex system, and was told that they are waiting like everyone else to even get the camera to test! So don't expect your PW Flex system to work with your new D4 right away!

Did a shoot with the D4 and a single sb-900 with no problems... I'm going to test my studio gear now. I did a shoot a couple days ago but used Plus IIs.

I imagine the same is going to be true of the new D800 as well.
Did a couple small shoots with a TT5/TT1 setup on a D800 and everything seemed to work okay. Didn't try anything fancy though, just manual and automatic TTL operation using an AC3 Zone Controller.

Def going to take some old school PWs on weddings with me when I finally get a D800 camera until compatibility has been confirmed. Downside of the PW system over the RPs I guess.

I just purchased an sb-910 *my first flash for Nikon camera as I'm a Nikon Newbie! I'm in the market for transmitter, and was looking at these. But now I guess I'll need to rethink. Maybe purchase an SB-900 instead. Did they give an indication of a date for firmware?

I've been using the PW flex system with my SB910's & a D800 for a couple weeks now, been working fine for me. But like hike said, I didn't try anything fancy either. They do work in both manual & TTL mode for me though.

+1 Same setup (w/ D800) and TTL worked perfectly well.

The SB-910 won't do HSS w/ the TT5/TT1 with ANY Nikon body right now. In other words, if you want to use a large aperture (f/1.4, f/2.8) on a bright, sunny day, well, you're out of luck til the propeller-heads find a firmware update solution.
Unless, of course, you kept some SB-900's. Just 1 more reason to NOT buy The Latest Technology until the lemmings have done all the troubleshooting for you.
