p.1 #1 · Creases on collapsible background

I've been using a Fotodiox 5x7 collapsible background and I notice in PP that there are slight creases in the cloth material. Is there a way to shoot to avoid these appearing without dialing open the aperture too much? Any advice on how to best remove them in PS or Lightroom? Thanks!

I found a video that you might find helpful. It's for the Lastolite HiLite illuminated background, but some of it applies in general to high key backgrounds.

In particular, starting at 14 minutes into the program there's a segment about using Photoshop to clean up the BG.

Thanks Brian. Using levels is a good idea for some problems with high key backgrounds.

It's fast and easy, but can be problematic if your subject has light tones; they'll get blown out as the background does.

Masking takes more time, especially if the subject has lots of fine detail at the edges -- like flowing hair -- but it's safer if the subject isn't mostly mid- to dark-toned.
