p.1 #1 · NEX 7 High grade lenses

Hello everybody,

I would like to see a main topic like this one to be able to discuss only about the lenses for the Nex 7.
Sony has release only few lenses for the moment but other makers are also building lenses for this wonderful camera.

[MACRO]

Where are the high quality macro lenses for Nex system?
Incoming ?
Is only the cheap SEL30M35 30mm from sony available?

[LANDSCAPE]

topic here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1078212
Sony made a very nice lens in cooperation with Carl Zeiss The 24mm 1.8
quick review here http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1452
Very good? YES
Wide enough for stunning landscapes? NO because we are on a crop sensor here! it's not like having a 24mm on Full frame sensor...
Sigma released a very cheap but very good 19mm E-mount lens: http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1484/cat/all
Review and pictures samples here

So pleeeaaassee Sony, make a Wonderful wide wide wide lens for the Nex cameras.
Sony G 14mm ?

[FISHEYE]

Here is a nice news about an interesting lens coming from Korea
The Rokinon 8mm Fisheye

[50mm equivalent]

I only tested the very good Carl Zeiss Biogon 35mm 2.0 on the Nex 7 and I just love it!
You ll have to do everything manual so you need some times to get used to it but in the end, you can shoot stunning pics.
The Sigma 30mm is a very good choice for low budget:

[PORTRAIT]

If you want to take very nice portrait pictures. Again, no super good lens available at the moment I think.
I personally use the Nikkor 85mm 1.8 with a Fotolia Adapter and It's very very nice.
Problem is, no stabilization and no autofocus. Because yeah... at 85mm you need both to ensure sharp pictures, especially in a low light environment.
The focus ring is ok but we are really far from the Carl Zeiss build quality here.
Portrait with a tripod with MF Assist functionality = Go for it!

[ZOOM]

For this category, the sony 18-200mm seems to be a very nice lens but I didn't test it yet.
Feel free to give your opinion.
I wait for the Sony G Zoom lens which will be released this year. I just hope it will kick asses!
Last news is: It could be a 16-55mm f/3.5-5.6 sony G lens but Pancake!
http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-hot-the-new-g-lens-zoom-is-a-pancake/
I would have preferred a non-pancake but with a f/2.0 from 16 to 55mm, 55mm f5.6 is not very fun to take artistic pictures
