Well hey there Mr Tim,
Nice change of pace! I do like all of these but think that 3 and 4 are a little stronger images with 4 being all around blue ribbon winner
Really like the comps on these and the detail that you captured
Larry
Thanks for the good words Larry! I too like the last the best, funny thing about that one, it was the last one I photographed and just felt uninspired and tired of butterflies when I took it!

It is the last one Tim that catches my eye the strongest in comp, just a knockout shot buddy!
#3 rocks, excellent shot, man you got in close!
Great detail on all, nice BG's on all and great color
They look great to me at ISO1600
Karl
I'm kind of partial the last myself Karl
This is the first time I shot Butterflies with the macro, I kind of lost sight with how close I was when looking through the viewfinder! I did get close
Thanks for the nice words Karl, I was hoping you would see these!

Way to go Tim!
Love it when you leave the 800 down for a few minutes and take up another lens in your arsenal
Looks like you had to deal with low light, low ss, high ISO and flash and did a great job too.
1 This guys outfit is getting a bit ragged but the nice colors from the flowers in that one and # 2 draw the eye down to the important parts.
3 and 4 are in much better shape and the last one is my favourite of the set for the comp, the way the BF is more vertical and sitting just at the joint of the stem with the leaf and the stem showing the way out of the pic to the BF.
But don't get me wrong, love those 800 shots too

I'll tell you Martin, I felt somewhat inadequate without the big glass
1 he's a warrior I tell you
2
4 my pick also
Don't fret Martin the great eight is calling me from the closet as we speak. I'll be using it soon I hope!
Great job on these, Tim. Lifelike colors and fine detail in all the images. I particularly like the compo in #1 and #$, but it is #3 my favorite

Mighty fine way to spend a day. That first guy has some ragged looking wings but it does make for an interesting shot. Makes me long even more for spring time! Thanks for that little bit of optimism...now if only that groundhog agrees I will be stoked.
Eric
Thanks for the good words Eric. It was nice to see the color instead of our drab winter. Now the 80+ degree and high humidity of the exhibit was a bit much
