The possibility of 'luck' commences when you get off the couch.

Nice shot Peter. This is a beauty.

Peter, this is a fabulous pose, lighting and capture!! You should keep your eyes out for the wee birds more often!

Beautiful capture, Peter. The proper exposure brings out the beautiful feather detail of the bird and provides a pleasing range of tones and colors

This is more that 1/2 presentable Peter. I'd say at least 2/3 or maybe even 3/4 presentable... I'd be very happy with this one ~ Ron

Thanx Ron, now you are nickel and diming me.

Great shot, Peter.

Should not be a problem with your arsenal.

Thank you, Tony, long lenses are good for some things, but you show what a blind and a shorter telephoto can do in dedicated/talented hands.

I too prefer to get the bird without "enticing" it, Peter. I know -- and have seen -- some folks going so far as to bait the bird with prey. I'd rather get them when they're doing things "naturally". Perhaps the photo capture rate is less, but I get a much more satifying feeling of accomplishment when I encounter something good while hiking around. I really like the complimentary bg for the Chickadee, and the pose is perfect.

Best Wishes,
Steve

Thank you, Steve, I am with you on that one.
On occasion I have baited my standard stunt birds with whole grain bread and seeds in order to do some technical flight photography. That's how far I am prepared to go with baiting ...
