Hmmm....I think I've seen this RTH before... And that Kestrel, too! Excellent series and technique, Charles. I'm particularly liking the two pics with the still-living mouse, his eyes wide open. Makes you wonder what was going through his mind, knowing this was it?
Hope to see more of your posts here, my friend.
Best wishes,
Steve
Thanks Steve. You should visit that park more often. I think the mouse was already dead at that point, the hawk stayed on the ground for a couple of minutes after catching it. I don't think the hawk likes to fly with a live prey.

great catch. The one with the snake is amazing. is that a poisonous one?
BTW, how long was the lens?
Thanks for the comment. I don't think the king snake is poisonous (I could be wrong). I use the 400mm f5.6 lens, it's currently my only wildlife lens, so I really need to get close. The 600mm II would be a nice upgrade, hope it comes out in April, as estimated.
Thanks Conrad. You are well known in SoCal; the other day I was at El Dorado photographing osprey, heard someone mentioned your name, I asked him, "did you know Conrad?", he replied, "of course, everybody knows Conrad!".
