They used an the excuse, "that many parts require software"
But my shop as well as many other independents buy mechanical parts only.
Knobs , rubber grips.ect.. This is just a smoke screen to control all repairs .
Most nikon uses will be forced to pay flat rates , even for grips and small repairs $$$.
It will also kill the used market, because many shops (keh.com for ex) will not be able to refurb.
at a price resonably , to resell. So trade ins will not be as common. Think about it,
You break a battery door and Nikon is the only player. Big Bucks to fix.

I'm a bit confused. Does this mean that the shops on the Nikon list are being removed and only the two factory Nikon service centers will be in operation or will those places be exempt?
