I've been a lurker on the forums for a long time but have not posted any photos here before. I'd like any comments and criticisms so that I could better develop my skills.
Here's some from my trip to Costa Rica in Jan. Hope you enjoy.

Green-breasted Mango (attempt with single flash photography on a late afternoon..I generally don't use flash so any comments welcomed)
Welcome to the forum Sherman. Very strong images on the first post. You seem to know how to manage the back grounds. Continue shooting and posting, you will get great inputs from the nice people in this forum.
Thanks for the comments. It was pretty amazing birding in Costa Rica. It was kind of a first bird photography specific excursion. I hope to do many more.
Welcome to the forum Sherman. You are starting off with some beauties. I really like the deep saturated colors. If you would include the exif data we would be able to make more helpful comments
Welcome Sherman and congrats on these fine pics in your first post.
I too would like to see the exif data in your pics.
Some initial comments:
1 Lovely pose, bg and comp. The water droplets really add to the comp. Am trying to see exactly where the focus point is and if you got it spot on the eye.
2. Beautiful shot. No doubt in my mind that the focus is on the eye here. I would suggest cropping some off the top in this pic to just below the top raindrop on the left.
3. Nice blur on the wings and colors. On the comp I would suggest that the bird might need some more space in the direction its looking which might be achieved by cropping a bit on the left and giving it some more on top if you have it.
Just my thoughts on what I see and hope they help.
Looking forward to seeing more from you
Martin
