During the winter months the lake water level drops and the pier becomes land locked. During spring runoff, the water level rises to a point where the entire pier is in the water.

Even after reading the intro, an image with plenty of interpretations. One I like:

A pier looking like it has no beginning, and no end.

And, the place looking like a desert of dried dirt and stones, what would the purpose of this be ?
