p.1 #1 · Problem: 5D video - no sound in Photoshop CS5 Extended
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration in assisting me with this problem.
I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS5 Extended to edit short video clips from my Canon 5DII and output to an MP4 or QuickTime file. I just shot a short 35 second interview clip with using a wireless lapel mic. The resulting clip has great sound but needs a color balance correction.
I import the video clip into CS5 Extended, follow the procedures in animation mode and the clip is there with the sound/audio. I make a couple of filter corrections. Check the playback, has sound and looks good. Now this is where the problems lies: Regardless of what format I output to there is no sound, even though the little speaker icon on the layer is active as well as the speaker icon on the stop/start control panel. The export dialog box says: There is no audio file associated with this video.
With thousands of 5Ds and Photoshop SC5 Extended users out there, someone has to have the answer. I have spent over 6 hours researching, watching tutorials and doing searches looking for the answers.
Can anyone help?
Thanks again and Best Regards,
Ron

I am no expert doing video so this may be really worthless suggestions.
Are you sure you highlight the audio clip before trying to export both together and also checked the add audio box when converting? I think they output seperately and know from personal mistakes the check audio box is easy to skip.
I had issues with CS3 converting to a .MOV file. My sound became corrupt and still don't know why. What I did was avoid the conversion and save as a AVI file
(massive size) then use a free converter to modify it into a .MOV format. While not ideal at least it might get you past the issue.

Thank you Jefferies1.
I did figure it out. I needed to create a duplicate layer and make all of the adjustments on the duplicate layer. Whenever adjustments are made the sound is eliminated for whatever reason. All layers must be highlighted when exporting (rendering the clip). A lot of the tutorials don't mention that very important detail.
I hope this helps anyone else running into this problem.
Best Regards,
