Just wondering if anyone uses this system and how do you like it? I've gotten scared off the sling type straps for now at least, and still want something to take the weight off my neck, so thought about the TT system, and use the straps on my Change Up to connect the support straps. Lots of threads on the BR and Luma Loop - but I'd love to hear how folks like the Think Tank set-up.
the Luma Loop is history due to patent issues. but during their hiatus from doing them, they did a complete rethinking and Luma Cinch has about the most comfortable, usable and secure strap right now. the only thing missing is the QR factor. the camera tends to stay in place when locked down until needed. once you need it one pull and your up and focused.
the TT camera support set can reduce neck issues but also reduces camera mobility to move to shoot at any real uable pace. http://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/camera-support-straps-v2.aspx
TT hasn't reall looked seriously into a support system for camera use just yet
Hi Sharon!
While I cannot comment on your question here, I might pose an alternative camera strap.
I was a OpTechPro strap user until I discovered the Crumpler Convenient Disgrace strap. It has the QR clamps plus is far more plush/soft around the neck and down the shoulders. Plus has a higher neck pad. At 641/2yrs, my neck really starts to hurt after 30 minutes with a dslr and lens hanging off my neck.
Good luck!
Dan
Thanks for the input! That's exactly what I was wondering about TT - looks great for carrying but how well/quickly can you get your camera to your eyes for shooting? SJ - have you used the Luma Cinch yet?
Thanks Dan - I'll give that Crumpler strap a look!
Thanks for the links - I've seen them all, but as we know, things often look great, but fail in operation. Would love to know if these are out yet and how users like them!
i've been using it for about a week. it has no real potential failure points different from any other standard strap. threads on just like the in the box strap. if any of the alloy buckles fails i have to say that that was the least of your problem at the time of failure. a lot of other things have the potential to go first like body parts and possible anchor points. it is sewn very well. it is made well. it is easy to adjust and easy to operate
as a user i like this one with one caveat. i like it to have a QR so i can use it on multiple bodies easily. other then that it is a keeper for me.
Thanks! I wasn't sure if you had one or not, so that is good to know. Carrying gear is always a conundrum, there is just no perfect bag, strap, roller, etc...
it turns out i do prefer the 2 point connection. i put my camera where i want it and it tends to stay there for the most part lens down. staying in place is a definite plus too especially when you get close to white porcelain
I have just ordered a Black Rapid RS Sport 2 that I hoping to use in conjunction with the Think Tank Digital Holster 20, as most of the time I will have the 70-200 on my 5D II. Makes for changing lenses easier too, with the holster.
I was a little skeptical all this time ... or more accurately ... nervous about dangling a heavy rig by a screw, but all the reviews have been very positive and I have not seen any rig falling off the strap!
Hi Bobby! Thanks for that - I actually had the Black Rapid Sport and returned it. I think it would be OK with an ungripped 5D, but I decided not to chance it with my 1DIV. I did find it comfortable, and honestly would not recommend the thinner ones like the women's version except maybe for a very light rig. I tried them out because I don't like bulk, but the thinner straps dug in, and the sport version felt good. Hope you like it and have good luck with it!

What are you saying ... that you would risk it if it's the 5D but not the 1D4? Just yanking your chain.
The Luma Cinch does look interesting ... and I am thinking of ordering one too ... so see which works better for me.
Ha ha... No, I am def. not saying that! Just that the weight of the 5D may make it safer, that's all! If I hadn't read certain warnings about the BR, I may have kept it as it was very comfortable to carry - but the rig does bounce a bit.
