The 5D is from 2005 and has no LV as all other DSLRs from then. The 5D2 was one of the earliest (2008) with LV.
i'm pretty sure olympus and maybe sony had liveview dslrs prior to the introduction of the 5D classic. it definitely came out in the days when everybody was saying that liveview was a solution searching for a problem though. the 5DII was nowhere near the earliest with LV. i think it was like the 3rd or 4th canon dslr with liveview and canon and nikon are always slow to adopt new features compared to the upstart companies that need to distinguish themselves to survive.
Yeah sure, but arguably the first FF acquirable for the deadly. Perhaps the Sony predated the 5D2 with a couple of days. But that's not important when talking about years.

you were right about the 5D classic actually – the first liveview dslr was released in january 2006. the 5D2 was certainly not the first FF dslr with liveview though. the nikon d700 predates it by a few months and the nikon D3 and canon 1DsIII by nearly a year. sony still hasn't produced a FF liveview camera out of sheer stubborn stupidity. anyway, i'm glad there's finally a voigtlander thread...

To me it looks like nitpicking when the original question was about the 5D. But ok, I'm sure you're right.
it's certainly nitpicking it's just a pet peeve of mine – people talking about some feature like canon invented it when in a lot cases they were the last or second to last to come out with it. canon is the dominant player and a lot of canon people don't pay any attention to other brands so they think that a feature that is new to canon is actually new.
edit: apologies to all for the irrelevant tangent.

Ah, only 600+ posts... You're not accustomed to the level of nitpicking we do around here yet I see.
I do actually learn a lot of little fun facts though.

I actually went here after many years on a Swedish forum where nitpicking was a daily treat among idiots hating some brand - usually Canon. I got tired of that and really enjoy the non-nitpicking atmosphere here. So this is still an exception for me :-)
More importantly, a lot of talents are active here inspiring daily with images, lens knowledge and PP. So I'll stay put. With that said, lets go on with the imagery - I for one have a recent interest in the CV12 and 15.

Thanks for starting this Voigtlander thread. I just bought the 40 & 90 SL II lenses with Canon mount, so I'm glad to see some pics made with Voigtlander lenses.
What mounts do Voigtlander lenses come in natively?
The M39 like mine... What else?
And in what mount form did they catch the biggest part of their reputation?

As just an aside: I didn't know anything about them till about 6 or 8 months ago when I saw one here maybe or in a used shop and went: Oooo... there's a name I can't pronounce! It must be awesome! And it looks neat-o too.
