p.1 #1 · Pocketwizard Question

Okay. So I want to basically save as much money as I can buying pocketwizards. However, I have a dilemma, compatibility.

I have a Nikon D7000, SB700, and a SB28DX.

What is my best option to go about flashes for this?

I want to be able to use the pocketwizards with strobes in the future because I know I'm going to be expanding to them.

I'm fine with spending the extra money, but I just want to save of course.

I see myself selling the SB700,buying another SB28DX, and then buying 3 pocketwizard plus II's.

Also, I can't manually control the flash power from my camera right? What would allow me to do this, the AC3?

I am also considering buying 1 SB910 if I sell the SB700.

The PocketWizard Plus II units will only trigger your flashes, and will do nothing for remote power control, nor for ETTL exposure metering and the remote power control then required to get the exposure to happen. From Pocket Wizard you need the more expensive Flex TT5 for the remote flashes, and either the Flex or a Mini TT1 unit for the camera. With those units you get remote manual power control, and full ETTL flash photography. And the AC3 accessory only works with the Flex units. All of that is expensive compared to the Plus II triggers.

So you recommend that I just get the pocketwizard Plus II's? Remote control of the power isn't too significant to me.

Thanks!
