Very nice comp with some neat atmospherics - nice call on getting out there to shoot this one. The dusting of white along the cliffs in the distance accents the sandstone layers nicely.
Thanks a lot guys! I almost didn't go, then I though "What am I doing!" (These conditions have been very rare this year.) I had wanted a nice snow shot from that location and hoped I'd get one this year.
The best part was the fresh snow, no footprints, and no people whatsoever. Mine was the only vehicle in the parking lot.
Worst part was when I looked down at my feet and saw that there were a couple cigarette butts there. Don't know who those people are but IMO they aren't photographers if they can't pack out the garbage. But I rant...
David, the road was slippery on the way up, but it warmed up fast and was dry when I left.
Beautiful image Craig. That dusting of snow makes the whole scene even more magical, particularly that on the tree. Those butt-head smokers should have some sense slapped into them!
That's lovely...you must live on the point! The depth in this image is outstanding. Even the tree has the perfect amount of snow on it, as you can still see the gorgeous texture of the trunk.
