I'm in the process of getting approval from a local college that I shoot (NJCAA D1) to put up a basketball remote at their last game of the season. I already have an insurance liability form on file there since I strobe the gym. But wanted to be able to present the SID and all concerned with any/all regulations that the NJCAA may or may not have concerning these remotes. But I'll be damned if I can find anything that remotely lists the "general" regulations.
Can anyone possibly help me with a resource I could print some from. Or could e-mail the link to them so I can make sure I have all my I dotted and T's crossed.
To be honest, I don't thing there really is any. Just be honest with the SID and explain everything in detail that you plan on doing. Even then, you may want to just put one up for the SID and the AD to look at it. When I put mine up, I think the SID didn't realize how noticeable it would be, he brought out the AD and he was fine with it.
Rick I read through that whole thread, and several links that came off of it. And while I understand most of it. It still seems as though home rule is the rule, as long as it doesn't violate NCAA or in my case NJCAA regulations of being in front or beside the backboard.
I'm headed to a meeting with the SID and one other school official tonight. I'll see how it goes over. Hopefully not like a lead balloon!
Well the SID seemed very excited about the idea. And is looking forward to seeing the results. Now I have to decide what lens to put on it. I have a 16MM Fisheye and I'm considering buying either a 20 or 24MM F2.8 lens to put on it.
