I wonder if many people had much negativity toward Kodak when they were big. It seems like the more successful a company is, the more arrogant or monopolizing they can seem (it is also noted in the article that Google and Apple might buy some of Kodak's patents), but when they fall there's empathy for them. I remember when Blockbuster (and Rogers) took over the video rental market from the independent local stores. I preferred the smaller stores but had no choice shortly after the big ones arrived. Now we're sad to see them all gone with Netflix and internet downloading apparently taking their place.
