Looking to buy a windows desktop tower only for $500 to $800. Will use my current monitor. Any suggestions on brands and models? I have been away from the windows platform for a while so I need some help weeding through the options out there. I am not giving up Mac but I need a windows computer for some software issues that I have where Windows will work better for me.

when dell has their deals/ saies, esp out of their outlet (refurb, scratch and dent) you can pickup and i7 2600, fairly loaded for around 650. you may need to add alittle ram, but ram is cheap now.
there is not much room inside for hard drive expansion (I have 2 platter drives, and an SSD in mine), but added a usb 3 card. the transfer rates of usb3 are faster than sata, and I also bought a usb3 card reader which has made transfer of pictures to the computer a lot faster. I am doing my back up externally.
