But I commend your image here. If this isn't a set up, your planning and timing are the stuff of a street shooter's dreams.

One could make an arguement for her blending in too much with the wall, but it's a street shot, not a portrait! So, for me, that arguement goes out the window.

Cool gritty shot. She may blend in a bit with the background, but I think it is good in this case. Helps your eye to explore the scene a bit. Neat graffiti. - Paul

Thanks Charlie, no set up just got lucky.
I totally agree about Graffiti it is a blight, however Newtown a suburb of Sydney that allows all its back alleys and lanes to be used for Street Art, it is a very interesting place, just to wander around.

Ray- Well, luck might have been a factor, but I'm still giving you full marks for your seeing and timing.
Thanks for the explanation about "Street art" in that part of the Sydney metro area. To me, the whole graffiti question is about whether or not it's okay with the property owners. In this case, it was, so this qualifies as street art (and IMO not graffiti)- and very good street art.

I like it both in color and black and white. It really is a background that begs for a subject. A person walking in front of it is a pretty good choice for one. You could get crazy with it to I suppose. A left alone antique baby stroller, a chalk drawing like at a crime scene on the sidewalk, kids playing with squirt guns, etc would all give different messages. Nicely seen - Paul

Wow! The color version really shines! This again settles the "getting lost in the background" thing as a non-issue for me on this one. It's a great candid, and as mentioned above, it does give the eye cause to really look around the whole image and take in all the color.

Did well for what you have. I will admit that her position in the picture just doesn't work for me. Maybe its the dang flip-flops or the angle of her away from the camera, but it just makes me wish her position was better cause the background and comp of it is great!

The focus and pp is terrific and it's a great subject too.

I also loathe graffiti but given that it's with us, this is interesting and a great commentary of early 21st century urban living.
