great job capturing this lovely bird Steve
Thanks Kenny, as I said above, I'll even take it sitting on a non-natural electrical wire. I can't be too choosy as he made the effort to come way out here.

What an awesome find!
Thanks Conrad! It does help to be in the "local birder loop" so you can jump on it as soon as it's first reported. For instance, I read this morning that someone saw a Crested Caracara at Ballona Wetlands near LAX. Now, how awesome is THAT? We've been getting some pretty unique stuff lately here in LaLaLand...

Congrats, stranger! That is one beautiful bird that I would like to add to my collection. I'm envious? Yes!
So glad to see you posting, Steve.
Socrate
What -- Socrate, envious? I never thought I'd live to see the day... It's good to be back, and I'm happy to see The Master is still here! I've been AWOL from FM for way too long, my friend.

Hey Steve, I am lucky to be retired. I woke up this morning and looked around and found nothing to do, but by the end of the day I only got half of it done. Nice capture. Bruce
Bruce, I KNOW I'd find plenty of things to occupy my Time of Retirement, it's just the financial aspect that gives me pause. I don't want to ultimately end up living in the trailer parked along a street and me having no teeth (gotta pay for dental) and more hair on my face than on my head! But The Lure of the Road keeps on singing its siren call.

Hey man great to see you buddy, hope life on the road has been exciting and you've been missed my friend.
Killer look at this seldom seen bird, bet you were stoked when you laid eyes on this one
Tom
Hey amigo, good to be back and to see familiar "faces" like yours once again! It's been a long while since I've posted, but sounds like folks like you and Karl have also been scarce here? Well, now I don't feel so bad since I'm in such august company. As far as life on the road -- it's been non-existent. After all the hoopla last year, I didn't retire. If I did, I certainly would have dropped by to see you and Tim! And kept in touch. So this Scissor-tail instead came here to see me, what a thoughtful bird...

It was good to see you out at the wetlands the other day, congratulations on your
rare find and nice photo

And great to see you out there at Bolsa and catch up with what's been happening, Tim. Though I came up snake-eyes on the Loggerheads, not that I didn't try. But I couldn't do better than your photos.

Ah, the Caravaggio of FM's Nature and Wildlife! Sorry, it was hard to do any chiaroscuro with a Bird on A Wire But I'll take what I can get as he's a rarity here. Grazie for the look amico.
