Hi, everyone! Betcha you don't even remember me any more. I'm sorry not to have had time to post anything of late. The theatrical production I was in was very successful but took up a lot of time and lately I have been busy creating a website to sell my photos http://endre-balogh.artistwebsites.com/ It takes an inordinately long time to prepare every photo for upload to the right specifications, then it takes a long time to do the uploads and tag every photo. As i go through them, I notice older photos that can use some sprucing up with new techniques, so there are several old photos that look like new, there. In doing that I came across this photo from a few years back that I thought might look good in B & W. Of course, it can't hold a candle to any of my friend Klaus's photos of the Southwest but it is a nice try anyhow. This was taken at a stop on the I-90 in Utah. I hope you like it.
the processing is excellent. but it seems there is too much or no focal point in the composition; I want to ask 'what am I suppose to look at?'.
I almost missed the lighting spike in the distance; not sure it belongs here, of if so how to make it more prominent
any way, good shooting.
regards, tom
I appreciate the critique, Tom. "Too much or no focal point..." Hmmm... I'll have to cogitate on that one. As I wrote, it isn't one of my best. It may work better in color but it was fun to turn into a B & W, anyhow.
All best wishes,
Endre

Endre,
I like your lightining bolt in here and the view into the canyon.
It may look much better in color. I know sometimes images don't look quite right when they are converted into BW.
I, like Tom, first was lost for a focal point.
However, I am captivated by the view in its entirety, so the shot is not lost on me.
Ha, listen to me. Me, Tim, actually trying to crit an Endre shot! Kinda laughable, but only opinion!
How are you? I see you had a great trip out West. Sorry our paths didn't get to cross.
Fond regards,
Endre

Thanks, patsy, my friend! I don't know about the "master" part but certainly being "old" fits. As always, I'm delighted that you like something of mine. I need to get back to posting over here, but time constraints really have gotten the better of me lately.
Warm regards,
Endre

Well, I liked it as it is, great B+W old master.
Great image Endre and glad the production went well. My photo exhibition for the Art Scene here did really well ……… managed to recover some $$$ from this hobby. I’ve got to get to work now and photograph some new stuff.
I think the tones are nice for the canyon walls and the valley floor for a B+W conversion, but I prefer the color version overall. A beautiful shot - Paul
That's fantastic news, Jim! Congratulations! It certainly is fun to make some $$$ with your photos.
I'm so glad you like the photo!
All best wishes,
Endre

I'm glad you like the shot, Paul, and I have to agree that the color version is better.
All the best,
Endre
