Even with a very laborious 1-image focus stack I was unable to get good detail on the head of the lacewing larva in #3, but, as you say, the rear end is in OK focus.

The shot of Mark the Mantis shows the benefit of developing a relationship with your subject over an extended period of time. I've been sitting down beside it drinking my breakfast juice while it eats the occasional breakfast bee for the last couple of weeks now.
The green jumper is another of my backyard regulars and he was happy with the new financial deal that I had offered for his acting as a model - hence the cartwheel of joy.
