About to pull the trigger on a minty Canon 1D Mk III. I have read of numerous AF problems in this model.

The serial number on this camera is 555277. The owner states the software was updated by Canon in Irvine, CA near where he lives.

Is this seriel number good or does it fall in the problem area? If there was any issue, would the Canon update fix it?

I'm a student and this thing needs to do me well. Hes asking $1800 and its like new in box.

hi greg,

i have owned 4 used 1d3 bodies and three of them needed to be sent to canon for the AF fix. two were in the serial # range one was not. They ALL came back working as new. one i had to send back twice.

my advice would be to ask the seller for a two day test period just to make sure. if it works as described no worries, if not, send it back and let me take care of it. i had to learn the hard way.

you will love the 1d3 as it is a great camera.
