p.1 #1 · Hard case liner diy asap

A friend of mine is has a hard-case that will fit his 1D (Mk 1) and essential lenses, which he plans on taking with him on board a ship for his term at sea, however he doesn't have any foam with which to make the custom lining he requires. Where can he get suitable foam, and what would you all consider suitable foam?
Also, he is leaving in a week, so the sooner he figures it out the better.
I should mention that not bringing it is not really something he is willing to do. (it's been his right hand & eye since he went to Europe with it last spring, he's not likely to part, even temporally, with his "beautiful dinosaur")
Thanks!

Any specific hard case that may already have foam sets available for it?

With all Pelican cases, you can order the foam layers for each case.

Otherwise, what else needs to go in with the 1D?
If it's a custom case, he may be able to get some InstaPak Quick foam (from Uline)that'll work for the short term.

I found this site with a quick google search.

http://www.pick-n-pluck-foam.com/

Appears to be quite a few options.

In a total pinch time crunch, go to fabric/craft stores where he should be able to find foam that he can size to fit. After ---I'd get the pick/pluck or a divider set ala Pelican and do it right...

I buy my hard case liner foam at http://www.thefoamfactory.com/packagingfoam/picknpluckcr.html

OTOH, I normally use neoprene OP/TECH Snoot Boots for lenses and LensCoat BodyGuard for cameras to protect my gear when I travel.
