This 9 to 10 footer saw me long before I saw him. This was taken by the Bonne Carre Spillway where I go frequently to shoot bugs and birds. Now, I will never be able to still by the side of a pond and not think about where this guy is.

Thanks Mark. When I first got to the spot he must have been underwater . Then later I looked over and there he was.
I never heard or saw how he got there. They can be very quiet!
